When The Lights Go Blue

In honor of World Diabetes Day 2014, Camana Bay lit their fountain blue to help CIDA create diabetes awareness.  The International Diabetes Federation Blue Monument Challenge, invites Diabetes Organizations around the world to help create diabetes awareness on a global scale, by lighting iconic monuments blue.  Blue is the international diabetes awareness color, as found on the international diabetes awareness symbol the blue circle.  For more information click here

June 18th- Get Checked for Diabetes! United Church Hall, East End. Rotary Central and C.I.D.A Diabetes Screening.

July 10th- July 10th- C.I.D.A would like to thank the Cayman Islands Motorcycle Riders Association for all their support raising awareness and their donation for the 3rd Annual Cruising for a Cure.

March 5th– C.I.D.A participated in the 4th Annual Cayman Heart Fund Health Fair, conducting free screenings.

February 16th– C.I.D.A held their first public meeting at John Gray High School with guest speaker Dr. Diane Hislop Chestnut.

February 12th– C.I.D.A participated in “Love yourself to health” at Camana Bay.

January 28th – Baptist School’s Health and Fitness Campaign- Healthy Kids EXPO

January 15th- Resolution Day at Camana Bay.

January- Life for a child

C.I.D.A- Hands over HbA1C machine to Paediatrics ward as part of the Life for a child program. The HbA1c Machine was donated by Life for a child for more information please visit their website www.lifeforachild.org

 

January 2011- Insulin For Life

2010 Events

C.I.D.A’s  Annual 5k Walk/Run- November 2010

Was a wonderful end to celebrating Diabetes Awareness Month.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a successful event, including everyone who came out to walk/run wearing blue.   Thank you to all of our sponsors.

World Diabetes Day 2010

It was a fun filled day at Camana Bay!  C.I.D.A would like to thank the Pirates Week Committee for partnering with us.  The turnout was fantastic! There was a free screening and various activities promoting healthy living.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event and help promote diabetes awareness.  A special thanks to the Cayman Islands Motorcycle Riders Association for riding in blue.  Special thanks to Cost U Less for raising diabetes awareness by wearing C.I.D.A’s “Life is sweet, no sugar added” T-Shirts and raising donations for the cause.  Thank you to all of our sponsors.  We cannot forget thanking everyone who participated in the Blue Lighting Monument Challenge.

Cayman’s Got Talent 2010

It was a wonderful success!
